Meet Rachael McShane

This month Rachael McShane - a happy go lucky Aussie looking to broaden her horizons!

What is your greatest achievement?
I would have to say moving to Melbourne for work and setting up a great network of friends, who are now like family to me - I'm sure moving to France and becoming immersed in the culture will be right up there when it happens.

What makes you get out of bed in the morning?
My alarm! Just joking, the prospect of being one day closer to leaving for Nantes

What do you think is the most important lesson that life has taught you to date?
It is better to regret something you have done than something you didn't do - don't let opportunities pass you by.

What or who is the most important thing in your life?
I would have to say, in the end, the love and company of your close family and friends is most valuable to me.

What has been your most memorable day?

What is your favourite french expression? Why?
Voulez vous coucher avec moi - no not really only joking!

I guess my favourite french expression is not really an expression but a food: 'Chaussons de pommes' I think calling a pastry Apple Slippers is very funny! (Then again I think of some English names for food and it is not quite that ridiculous)

What do you like most about living in France?
I've yet to find out! I'm sure that the fact it will be an entirely different life to the one I'm living now will be a big factor.

What is your favourite place in Nantes?
I'll let you know when i get there!

What made you join the Knowing Nantes network?
My cousin Bree (cheesey90) put me on to it. I am moving here to care for the family she used to care for and I thought it would be a fantastic way to tap into a great network of people when I arrive.
