Meet Nicky Bona

Me- well, what can I say? I see myself as the typical mad englishwoman, game for a laugh, easy going (unless you speak to my hubby, who probbly sees me a stressed working mother!), but with her feet attached somewhere to the ground; And addicted to france, of course!

My greatest achievement? I supposemoving to France. Since the age of about 10 I've lived, dreamt and ate all things french. I even wrote a text at 11yrs old saying I would marry a frenchman, and live in france, so I'm so glad I've achieved my lifelong dream. Now I have to find a new one! probably doing something wildly creative in an old barn!

What makes me get out of bed? My children!

The most important lesson? Always to look forward, never back, and to live without a regret - My biggest philosophy is that all things happen for a reason, even the bad, from which we learn and from which new things grow.

The most important things in life are of course, my family (hubby and 2 girls), and our health.

What is my favourite french expression? Ooh! That's hard one! Bon appetit perhaps! I'm a real gourmand, and such expression doesn't exist, or isn't spoken in England. For me it conjures up delicious meals, aperitifs, and special moments shared with friends.

What's my favourite place in Nantes? The Loire. Everytime I cross it, on whatever point, I feel so exilerated. I could be in the most horrid mood, and once I cross, the mood changes, and I feel once again, lucky to be alive.

What do I like about living in france? Apart from the food and wine? The french ae wonderful at finding any excuse to celebrate, and have a fête. They are also so proudly attached to their local traditons, dishes, something which is lacking in the U.K. Just look at Brittany, the Vendée, Provence and Alsace. All so widely different in every way -food, language, architecture, costume. And of course, the nation's love of living off the land, with such savoire-faire, in plants, tisanes, potagers...

What made me join the K.N network? For ages I've been searching for some association, website, club or whatever to meet other anglophones; at last I've found YOU!
