Member of the Month Ian Allan

This month we meet Ian who has lived in Nantes for just a short while and has recently joined KN.

So Ian, how would you describe yourself?
Tall , slim , good looking , rich , charming ...strong predilection for exagerating personal facts ....!?!....

What is your greatest achievement?
mm..that's a tricky one , .. being a professional massage therapist or living in a different country..

What makes you get up in the morning?
coffee coffee coffee

What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
Accept change ...oh and 2+2 = what ???

What / who is the most important thing in your life?
humour, and my partner

If your apartment was on fire, what would you rescue apart from your loved ones?
possibly the bottles of wine!!! and and an indian silk hanging

What is your favourite French expression and why?
Oooh la la la la...said with gusto and sonority ...it always makes me smile

There is one phrase that always makes me laugh out loud: “Il pleut comme vache qui pisse.” I have only heard it here. That cow certainly seems to have been getting some exercise since I arrived!

What do you most like about living in France?
The temperature ( excluding winter!!)..oh and the wine :)

What has been your most memorable day in France?
Idling near Nord sur Erdre on the Erde on a small boat near the end of the summer , idyllic laziness ........

What is your favourite shop in Nantes?
0h well, i have to say IDEO, a fairtrade fashion shop my partner runs , but any cheese counter comes seriously close!

How do you relax in Nantes?
With wine !!!!!!! Friends and family, and the countryside..

Where do you like eating in Nantes?
Les Petit Saint, near the chateau, any boulangerie ..and any time at my partner's family , bonheur bonheur..........

What made you join the KN network?
To get to know some more people and to keep in touch a little with my maternal language
